THE SOURCE

ICBA - THE SOURCE

ICBA purses bid opportunities with vendors to provide exceptional pricing on high-volume, everyday commodity products. To achieve exceptional bid pricing, ICBA relies on the aggregated projected sales of participating stores to negotiate best pricing, often up to 30% below what is typically available in the marketplace.

The SOURCE program is our commitment-based model for purchase t-shirts, fleece, polo shirts, performance wear, and headwear. Since its inception in 2014, more than 2.7 million garments have been purchased. In 2018, The SOURCE program is expanded to include commodity supply products. A selection team made of store Members evaluates vendor bids. The SOURCE Request for Quote process begins in early November, with bids due in early December. Awarded bids are announced in January.

LEADING EDGE PROGRAMS

Some vendors may qualify for ICBA’s Leading Edge opportunity: a webinar-based focus group in which a subset of innovative and committed ICBA Member Stores provide feedback to encourage successful strategies for the marketplace. ICBA's Leading Edge:

  • Will help you develop a college store strategy or create test opportunities that can be extended to other ICBA Members upon proof of concept.
  • Is ideal for product development, service providers, pop-up shops, pilot/test sites, prestige brands, sampling programs, campus events.
